Security Code

If you disconnect the battery of your Ford for any reason (change, charging, etc.) you will find that the audio system (car radio) of your car will no longer be operational and it will ask for a four-digit code for unlocking.

THE SECURITY CODE

Most units have an exclusive security code that must be entered before the device can be used. Normally, the Ford dealership takes care of this during the pre-delivery inspection.

If for any reason the battery is disconnected or the audio unit is removed from the vehicle, the security code must be entered again before the device can be used again.

In some cases, this code can be found attached to some point inside the vehicle (eg glove box, trunk, engine, ...) and also, always, inside the car radio itself.

LOST SECURITY CODE

According to Ford's information, if the security code is unknown or lost, you will need to contact a dealership where, by providing the audio unit information and identifying yourself properly, you would get the correct code. However, this is not always the case and sometimes they require payment for it.
