Radio decoding for Ford. Ford code generator
If you disconnect the battery from your Ford for any reason (changing, charging, etc.) you will find that the audio system (car radio) of your car will no longer be operational and that it asks you a four-digit code to unlock.
THE SECURITY CODE
Most units have an exclusive security code which must be entered before the device can be used. Typically, the Ford dealer takes care of this when performing the pre-delivery review.
If for any reason the battery is disconnected or the storage unit is removed vehicle audio, the security code must be re-entered before you can use the device again.
In some cases, this code may be found attached somewhere on the interior of the vehicle (e.g. glove box, trunk, engine,...) and also, always, inside the vehicle itself car-radio.
LOST SECURITY CODE
Ford's information says that if the security code is unknown or lost, you will have to contact a dealer where, by providing the information on the audio unit and properly identifying yourself, you would obtain the correct code. This is not always the case and sometimes they require paying a price for it.
PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING THE SECURITY CODE
However, there is a method to obtain this unlocking security code without having to resort to the services of a dealer or without having to disassemble the car radio to read the data on its sticker. We distinguish three steps:
1.- Obtaining the serial number of the audio system.
– Turn on the audio unit.
– Press the buttons [1] and [6] on the front panel together (station preset) and hold it. A fourteen-digit message will appear on the screen where the last seven characters, starting with a letter, correspond to the serial number of the audio system (eg FDB30N5 M051505 ). This may not work on older car radio models, especially if it is older than 2004.
There are other versions of this procedure that I have not checked:
› Press buttons [1] and [6] together, release button [1] and keep button [6] pressed. A cycle of messages will appear on the display where the message on the first screen ends with the device serial number ( http://goo.gl/BdnBAo ).
› Press buttons [2] and [6] together, release both and the serial number will appear on the screen.

2.- Obtain the unlocking security code.
From the previous serial number, a code generator program can be used to generate the unlock code (four digits), which is what we will then enter into the device in step 3.

3.- Entering the unlocking security code on the radio.
Once the security code has been obtained, it is entered into the vehicle's audio system according to the procedure indicated below.
ENTERING A SECURITY CODE
When “ENTER CODE – – – -” or “ENTER CODE 0000” appears on the display when turning on the audio unit, the four-digit security code must be entered using the station preset buttons. The procedure to follow will be the following:
1. Press the [1] button several times until the first digit of the security code appears on the screen.
2. Then press the preset buttons [2], [3] and [4] for the remaining three digits.
3. Make sure that the security code is complete and correct before pressing the [5] button to finish.
INCORRECT SECURITY CODE
You have up to TEN attempts to enter the security code. The system's responses when an incorrect code is entered may be different.
The number of attempts is shown on the screen.
• If “CODE” is displayed on the screen, another attempt can be made immediately afterward.
• If “WAIT 30” appears on the display, the unit will be locked for 30 minutes. You will have to wait until the counter resets to zero. When “CODE” appears, the security code can be entered again.
• After ten failed attempts, the unit will become permanently inoperative and “LOCK 10” or “LOCKED” will appear. If this happens, you will need to contact a Ford dealer for assistance.

V SERIES UNLOCK CODE
Unlocking serial numbers starting with V is not available online for free as access to Ford's database is required.
Ford changed the way codes are generated when moving from the M series to the V series. Until the M series there is an algorithm or pattern between the serial number and the unlock code. As a result, that algorithm can be reversed to calculate the code. However, V codes are not generated with an algorithm that is directly related to the serial number. They are random and stored in a Ford database. This means that there are no calculators/decoders similar to those in the A, C, L and M series. V security codes are only theoretically available at Ford dealers.
There are sites that claim to be able to provide V-series codes for a price. These websites are risky and surely, in many cases, a scam. On eBay you can see places where this service is offered for little money and that their members have 100% feedback. They may have access to Ford's database somehow.

I don't know if it really works but on this page http://is.gd/Mrgwbv they say that they provide the code for free upon request, providing the serial number.

The radio in my 2004 focus says Locked 13 and won't let me enter any more codes. Now that I have removed the radio, I have gotten the serial number and the correct code. I have seen some comments in English about a last code that can be entered after 13 (if you are sure it is the good one) but since they are in English I don't understand it very well. Anyone know anything about this?

Hello, I bought a 2017 Ford Fiesta and I still don't dare to deactivate the battery for fear of it being blocked. Before having problems, I researched the codes and accessed the stereo to look for the serial number but I found that the letter of my number The serial number does not match others, on the back it says Serial.no Z056577. Someone could help me? Could this stereo not require a pin?

In my 2009 S-max, with a Sony radio, I downloaded the “Ford Radio Code” app for Android, and entering the V code... Which comes out by pressing 1 and 6 simultaneously, it gave me the correct code instantly
